My one year dance journey begins
(This is me at 33 years old, dancing)
So here is a bit of the background…
For fifteen years I danced ballet.
Then I went to high school, quit ballet due to change of locations and then became the dance captain at school. We did do a dance tour to Rockhampton and dance performances at school.
Once I left school after completing grade 12, I danced casually around the home.
(This is me performing on aerial silk).
Then in 2016, when I was 33, I started aerial silks. This took me on a different journey. Dancing in the sky. I did this for over two years and then I sustained an injury, which was healing but my physio said it was time to leave the aerial world.
I stopped exercising except for walking.
Now in 2024, this year I will be turning 40 and I have a new challenge. I am going to spend one year re-mastering dance again. I am going to try different styles, work on my flexibility and get back into shape.
Dance is such a creative, stress-releasing activity.
So I have one year, to rebuild stamina and dance as much as I want to get back to choreographing my own dances to the coolest of music.
I have decided to start a blog to track my journey, because it takes effort and time to build one’s goals. Please comment below if you have just started working towards your goals and let me know what is the goal!
