My progress on my year goal for dance

Hello there,

Well for those starting out on new goals, the best advice is to give as much time as you can and the energy to do so.

So for my dance goal, at first I didn’t want to dance. I enjoyed the thoughts of dancing but had zero energy.

Then I thought let’s just start small. So I spent five minutes stretching and five minutes dancing. I did this for a week and am totally out of breath after each session.

This week I told myself to do twenty minutes because I do want to build it for an hour at a time, multiple times a week. I danced about three to four days last week. I feel like with goals, it’s best to start small so you can do it multiple times a week. Also when I dance, I go all out with energy. I dance as if I am performing it. This makes sense why I have zero stamina right now to do longer sessions.

What did surprise me though, is I still can cherograph a dance, multiple dances without doing a class. This is cool but I do have to remind myself to learn new moves and it’s ok to go on YouTube and do some online classes.

I did start a belly dancing online class on YouTube, which was surprisingly different to my normal style and I had to stop after the warm up because I was stuffed. So to conclude, when starting out, do how much energy you can afford to give. Ten minutes doesn’t seem long but across multiple days it keeps the goal alive. Keep at it, you got this!
