Don’t let lack of confidence ruin your momentum

Ok, so I admit it. After my six minutes of dancing a day, I just stopped. I found myself going for walks instead.

I learnt something very cool recently and that is when we do something often enough we have confidence in our ability to do it. So it makes sense that right now, while I am sitting on the couch and not dancing that my lack of confidence in my ability is slowing down my progress.

Honestly, I used to dance all the time and I performed and I loved performing. So for me, it is really hard to bascially start all over again and be really bad at something that I remember being my main talent in life that I excelled out.

I have to be patient with myself but most importantly, I have to just give it a go. Try again and again and again. And right now, it’s not about being the best. It’s about starting and enjoying it. No dancing in front of mirrors where I can see how badly I am doing but purely just having fun.

Isn’t that what we tell kids when they start something? Just as long as you are having fun.

So here is my message for you, my dear reader. Don’t think about how good/bad you are doing your goal, just have fun with it.

You have plenty of time to get better.
